Few years ago, I had this talk with Bridget. I was sharing with her that I was disappointed with my 18th birthday celebration. The organiser was a very good friend of mine so I was really expecting it would at least be better than the year before. It wasn’t. And when I asked him why, he told me I shouldn’t have demands for it. Bridget however told me that it isn’t wrong to expect, or even to demand (to some extent), because that is the only time in a year that we are supposed to feel like kings and queens. That assured me, because I believe in planning good birthdays or else I don’t.

Ever since, I would love to plan a good one for anyone if I had willingly take up the task. Nobody should tell me to do lesser than good unless they want their own to be a letdown.

At some point in life, you’re gonna face either one of the following:

- Being such a big time failure at something
- Making a mistake so big you can’t even forgive yourself
- Been hurt to a point beyond repair

That’s also when you forget God. Only God can mete out abundant love, unending grace and unconditional forgiveness. If you think that God can’t deal with these, you’re believing in a human God. The thing is, our God is supernatural. You have to let go, you gotta trust God, don’t rob God of His job. Leave the supernatural and seemingly impossible to Him.

Cos’ even ironman is human inside his suit, and you’re no ironman.
